Meetup

Voting for April and May's Meetups dates.

Now that the dust has settled from the March's meetup, it's time to pick a date for the April's Trottinghamshire Meetup. This poll will close on the 31st of March at Midnight.

We will also be picking the date for the May meetup, as there are a reduced number of weekends over the next two months which I can run meetups. This is due to the first weekend of April being so close, and Griffish Isles taking up one of the weekends in May (the weekend of the 11th).

The plan for the March meetup, like the last one, is to start in The Arboretum Cafe the at 12 pm, then after 30 minutes, head over to the main venue.

Voting for March's Meetup Venue due to Booking Issues

After trying to book the most popular dates from the last meetup poll (2nd March and 23rd March) I was told by the Orange Tree that they are booked up for the whole of March. Because of this we now need to pick a new venue. This venue depending on future availability of the Orange Tree, could be the venue we have our meetups at from now on.

While we are waiting for the dust to settle, and for us to have a more consistent venue, we will be starting meetups (including the March meetup) at The Arboretum Cafe at 12 pm then moving to the venue chosen in the poll below after 1 pm.

This poll will close on 18th of February at Midnight. Please pick all the venues that you are OK with us having as a meetup venue, as depending on how the next meetup goes, the top 3 picked will be candidates for us to scout out. I'm yet to decide on which of the two dates from the last poll I'm going to pick, as this will depend on the availability at venue picked.

Poll For Trottinghamshire March Meetup Date

Now that the dust has settled from this month's meetup, it's time to plan for next month's Trottinghamshire Meetup.

This poll will close on the 11th of February at Midnight. We are also going to be voting on what other activities we want to do this year as it will make planning future meetups easier.

The plan for the March meetup is to hopefully hang around The Orange Tree pub on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham and catch up with members.

The Orange Tree has adequate table space for the people who enjoy playing table top games during these meets, so people can play TSSSF, tails of Equestria (a Pen and Paper RPG), and MLP CCG at the meetup.

It is also close to the Victoria Shopping Centre, so if anyone wants to do some shopping during the meet, you won't have far to go.

Poll for the date of the January/February Trottinghamshire Meetup (NOW CLOSED)

It's time to plan the first Trottinghamshire Meetup of the year. This time round we are going to be voting for the dates of the January and February meetups as it will make planning for future meetups easier. This poll will close on the 6th of January at Midnight.

This poll is closed. See below for results. Details of Meetup will be posted once The Orange Tree Confirms the dates picked are available.

The plan for the next meetup is to hang around The Orange Tree pub on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham and catch up with members. The Orange Tree has adequate table space for the people who enjoy playing card games during these meets, so people can play TSSSFTails of Equestria (a Pen and Paper RPG), and MLP CCG at the meetup.

It is also close to the Victoria Shopping Centre, so if anyone wants to do some shopping during the meet, you won't have far to go.

Poll for Next Trottinghamshire Meetup (Nov/Dec) Date

It's been over a month since we had a Trottinghamshire Meetup, (Unless you count the UKPC Pre/After meetups) so not only will we be holding a poll to decide the date for next month meetup, but there is another poll to help choose the date we hold the Christmas Meetup which will help us book things in advance. These polls will close on the 28th of October at Midnight.

The plan for the next meetup is to hang around The Orange Tree pub on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham to eat and socialise with other members. The Orange Tree has adequate table space for the people who enjoy playing card games during these meets, such as TSSSF and MLP CCG. If Pen and Paper RPGs are more of your thing, we will also be running a game of Tails of Equestria at the meetup.

It is also very close to the Victoria Shopping Centre if anyone wants to do some shopping during the meet.

UK Pony Con 2018 Pre/Breakfast/After Meets

As UK Pony Con is being held in Nottingham this year (on the Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October 2018) I thought it would be good idea to hold Pre/After/Breakfast Meets for anyone going to the convention.

The plan for the Pre/After Meets  would be to meetup at The Orange Tree as this is less than 5 minutes from the Nottingham Conference Centre where the convention venue is, and we have a good relationship with them. They have in the past even made a special My Little Pony themed dessert for us.

However depending on the time we hold the pre/after meets, booking a room may involve a cost of about 5£ per person, . We need to know more details about UK Pony Con schedule before we know if there will be a cost a for sure, the but I would want to make sure people are ok with that first.

For the Breakfast Meet we will have to have a different venue as the The Orange Tree isn't open until 12 pm. So most likely we will meetup at the Old Market Square next to the lions and find a starbucks or other coffee shop.

In order to work out if it is worthwhile for our group to hold Pre/After/Breakfast Meets, and help us work out the number of people that will turn up, we have a quick poll for people to fill in. This way I can give them a ball park figure of how many people are coming, and possibly book out one of the back rooms.

January 13th Trottinghamshire Meetup

This month’s Trottinghamshire Brony meet-up is hosted at The Orange Tree pub on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham at 12:00 PM on the January 13th.  This time around, it was a tie between the 13th and 27th. As we had a meetup at the beginning of December, we decided to hold the next meetup on the 13th.

This time round the plan is to hang around The Orange Tree catch up with members. It has adequate table space for the people who enjoy playing card games during these meets, so people can play TSSSF and MLP CCG at the meetup.

We also found out at the last meetup that the Disco Room has a projector and sound system. So we are going to book this room out, so we can play some background music and show stuff on the projector .

The Orange Tree is also close to the Victoria Shopping Centre, so if anyone wants to do some New Year Sales shopping during the meet, you won't have far to look.

Nov 11th Write-up and Christmas Party Announcement (With Poll)!

Header Image Source: https://basykail.deviantart.com/art/The-Christmas-Tour-510397513

Yesterday's meet took place at the Orange Tree bar in Nottingham and with a peak turnout of 12 people, we had a great time! The staff were friendly, accommodating and the food was delicious. We had plenty of space and overall the meet went pretty well.

I'm going to keep the summary brief, because at the approach to Christmas, we now need to discuss the December/Christmas meet-up. We'd like to have this at the Orange Tree again, except this time with the private room. As a result, we will be holding the poll early and it will only last a week, rather than the usual 2. This gives us time to book in advance.

Please state your availability in the poll below. The most popular date we will try to book the private room for. Please be aware that the private room is £50 for the day, so we need an idea of how many will be coming. we'd like to split the cost of this room between all attendees. With 10 attendees, that's £5 each. For more than 10, we can go even less.

This poll closes on 11/20/2017 Monday at 1 AM.

Trottinghamshire Bonfire Night Mini-Meetup @ Forest Recreation Ground

On the suggestion of one of our members we are running a Bonfire Night Meetup like last year, but a shorter mini-meetup as it is a bit last minute. We are still running the normal meetup.

We will be meeting at 18:40 outside the Gates at Vivian Court, and then head over to the Forest Recreation Ground at 19:00. This is because it's less likely to be crowded there than at Forest Recreation Ground.

There are two fireworks displays at 19:15 and 21:00 (the earlier display being a smaller one). The lighting of the biggest bonfire in the East Midlands will be at 19:45.

Also Don't forget to wear suitable clothing for a cold and damp November evening, and feel free to contact me via Telegram or Discord Server if there is any confusion about the details of the mini-meetup.

Nottingham's best loved FREE Fireworks display is back at the Forest Recreation Ground.
