Trottinghamshire March Meetup (12/03/2023) @ The Playwright Nº 38

The plan for the 12th of March meetup is to start at The Playwright Nº 38 pub on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham. To see why this date was picked, see the blog post on the results for the March and April Meetups voting.

We have booked the Hamlet Corner, the back room that is not near the pizza oven, for between 12 PM to 6 PM. It has adequate table space for people to play cards and board games. Some of the games we have played in the past are:

  • TSSSF (Twilight Sparkles’ Secret Shipfic Folder)
  • Tails of Equestria (a Pen and Paper RPG)
  • MLP CCG at the meetup.
  • Uno (Including the Wild Card Version)

 

If playing tabletop games is not your thing then there will be plenty of people at the meetup who you can hang out with and socialise. It is also close to the Victoria Shopping Centre, so if anyone wants to do some shopping during the meetup, you won’t have far to go.

Trottinghamshire January Meetup (22/01/2023) @ The Playwright Nº 38 ➤ The Dice Cup

The voting for the next Trottinghamshire Meetup is now closed. We have a booking at The Playwright Nº 38 and The Dice Cup for the 22nd of January. However, the plan for this meetup is slightly different from our typical meetup (See Below). Meetup agenda & Venues

The plan for the January Meetup is to meet at The Playwright Nº 38 at midday. Due to refurbishment, I could only book a table between 12:00 and 14:00. However, this should be enough time to have food (a Sunday dinner is one of the options) and drinks. Afterward, we head to The Dice Cup at 14:00, where I also have booked a table from 14:15 to at least 18:00.  

The Dice Cup has adequate table space for people to play card and board games. Some of the games we have played in the past are:

  • TSSSF (Twilight Sparkles’ Secret Shipfic Folder)
  • Tails of Equestria (a Pen and Paper RPG)
  • MLP CCG at the meetup.
  • Uno (Including the Wild Card Version)

If playing tabletop games is not your thing, there will be plenty of people at the meetup with who you can hang out and socialise. There is an entry fee of 1£ to play your own card games and board games.

December 10th (2022) Meetup Confirmation

The voting for the date of the December meetup is now closed, and the date has been chosen. The date was picked due to it being the most popular day, and the day that gives people the most notice.

The Christmas meetup will be held on the Saturday 10th of December. The details of this meetup, and the 20th November meetup will be posted in the event section of our website at a later date.

How re-vote for Trottinghamshire Bronies December 2022 Meetups Date.

As mentioned in the blog post confirming the October and November events, we need to re-vote for December again.

Because December is a busy month for pubs and we need to decide quickly, I have chosen to do the voting in the Trottinghamshire Bronies Telegram, Discord server, and Facebook page. This will make picking the Christmas meetup date quicker, than the current website used for polls.

If you can‘t use any these methods, please comment on this post with which one of these days you can make:

October 23rd & November 20th (2022) Meetups Confirmation / December Meetup Date Issues.

The voting for the dates of the next couple of upcoming meetups is now closed, and the dates have now been chosen. These dates were picked due to them being the most popular days, the least disliked days, and the days that give people the most notice.

However as pointed out by some of the Trottinghamshire Bronies members, because the plan for the Christmas meetup, is to go around Nottingham’s Christmas market Sundays are not feasible due to the shortened Public Transport times, and the meetup going on longer than normal due to needing at least two hours to go around the market.

Because of this, the December voting needs to be reopened at a later date.

As far as the October meetup is concerned this will be held on Sunday 23rd, and the November Meetup will be on Sunday 20th. The details for both of these meetups will be posted in the event section of our website at a later date.

Voting for October, November, and December 2022 Meetups Dates.

It’s time to pick the dates for the October,  November, and December Trottinghamshire Bronies meetups. This poll will close on the 2nd of October at midnight. Like the last time around there is also the optional question to pick dates that you don’t want to have the meetup on, to be used in case of a tie break between days.

Plan for October and November

The plan for the next two meetups is to start them at the Playwright 38 pub on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham. We will not be meeting up at the Train Station first like we used to do.

We will try to book the Poets Corner, the backroom that is near the pizza oven, for between 12 PM to 6 PM. This is not always possible, so it’s best to check the event listing when it is posted at a later date.

It has adequate table space for people who enjoy playing card games, Some of the games we have played in the past are:
