Trottinghamshire September Meetup (08/09/2024) @ Ed’s Easy Diner ➡️ The Dice Cup

The plan for the 8th of September meetup is to have a table at The Dice Cup, on Mansfield Road  (which is a 2-minute walk from Nottingham Victoria Bus Station) between 1 PM and 7 PM.

It’s £6 pounds to play the Dice Cup games, or £3 pounds if you are not going to play any of the Dice Cup’s games. There will be people at the meetup with their own games, so it should not be a problem if you don’t want to play the Dice Cup’s games (or any games). It has adequate table space for people to play cards and board games. Some of the games we have played in the past are:

  • TSSSF (Twilight Sparkles’ Secret Shipfic Folder)
  • Tails of Equestria (a Pen and Paper RPG)
  • MLP CCG at the meetup.
  • Uno (Including the Wild Card Version)

If playing tabletop games is not your thing, then there will be plenty of people at the meetup who you can hang out with and socialise. As mentioned, It is also close to the Victoria Shopping Centre, so if anyone wants to do some shopping during the meetup, you won’t have far to go.

Please be aware that the Dice Cup has restricted snack menu options due to its Vegan policy. If you require your own food, you will not be allowed to eat/drink it on-site. This is one of the reasons we have a pre-meet.

Pre Meet @ Ed’s Easy Diner

This time around, we will also be having a pre-meet at the far end of Victoria Shopping Centre, starting at Ed’s Easy Diner on the second floor, at 12 PM to go around the Victoria Centre for both shopping and eating.

To see why this date was chosen, see the blog post on these results for the September Meetup voting.

How re-vote for Trottinghamshire Bronies December 2022 Meetups Date.

As mentioned in the blog post confirming the October and November events, we need to re-vote for December again.

Because December is a busy month for pubs and we need to decide quickly, I have chosen to do the voting in the Trottinghamshire Bronies Telegram, Discord server, and Facebook page. This will make picking the Christmas meetup date quicker, than the current website used for polls.

If you cant use any these methods, please comment on this post with which one of these days you can make:

  • 03/12/2022
  • 10/12/2022
  • 10/12/2022

Voting will close on midday 23/10/2022. Please only vote on one platform (e.g Telegram, Discord, Facebook).

If there is any questions, feel free to ask me via Trottinghamshire Bronies Telegram, Discord server, or Facebook.

Voting for October, November, and December 2022 Meetups Dates.

It’s time to pick the dates for the October November, and December Trottinghamshire Bronies meetups. This poll will close on the 2nd of October at midnight. Like the last time around there is also the optional question to pick dates that you don’t want to have the meetup on, to be used in case of a tie break between days.

Plan for October and November

The plan for the next two meetups is to start them at the Playwright 38 pub on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham. We will not be meeting up at the Train Station first like we used to do.

We will try to book the Poets Corner, the backroom that is near the pizza oven, for between 12 PM to 6 PM. This is not always possible, so it’s best to check the event listing when it is posted at a later date.

It has adequate table space for people who enjoy playing card games, Some of the games we have played in the past are:

  • TSSSF (Twilight Sparkles’ Secret Shipfic Folder)
  • Tails of Equestria (a Pen and Paper RPG)
  • MLP CCG at the meetup.
  • Uno (Including the Wild Card Version)

If playing tabletop games is not your thing, there will be plenty of people at the meetup with who you can just hang out and socialise.

It is also close to the Victoria Shopping Centre so if anyone wants to do some shopping during the meet, you won’t have far to go.

I think it goes without saying, but while you don’t need to bring a mask to wear at the meetup, no one at the meetup will have a problem with anyone wearing one.

August/September 2022 Meetups Dates Voting & UKPC Pre/After Meet RSVP

It’s time to pick the dates for the August and September Trottinghamshire Bronies meetups. This poll will close on the 7th of August at midnight. Like the last time around there is also the optional question to pick dates that you don’t want to have the meetup on, to be used in case of a tie break between days.

There is also an optional question to gauge interest in the Pre/After Meets for UKPC. This is so I can let the Playright know the sort of numbers to expect.

Plan for August and September

The plan for the next two meetups is to start them at the Playwright 38 pub on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham. We will not be meeting up at the Train Station first like we used to do.

We will book the Poets Corner, the backroom that is near the pizza oven, for between 12 PM to 6 PM. Voting for February and March 2022 Meetups Dates

It’s time to pick the dates for the February and March Trottinghamshire Bronies meetups. This poll will close on the 23rd of January at midnight. Like the last time around there is also the optional question to pick dates that you don’t want to have the meetup on, to be used in case of a tie break between days.

Changes for future meetups

The plan for future meetups is to start them at the Playwright 38 pub on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham. We will not be meeting up at the Train Station first like we normally do.

We will book the back room (just past the pizza oven), for between 12 PM to 6 PM. It has adequate table space for people who enjoy playing card games, so people can play TSSSF (Twilight Sparkles’ Secret Shipfic Folder), Tails of Equestria (a Pen and Paper RPG), and MLP CCG at the meetup.

It is also close to the Victoria Shopping Centre so if anyone wants to do some shopping during the meet, you won’t have far to go. If playing tabletop games is not your thing, there will be plenty of people at the meetup with who you can just hang out and socialise with.

I think it goes without saying, but it’s probably a good idea to bring a mask to wear in the shops and for when moving about the pub, especially considering the new Omicron variant.

Voting for Christmas 2021 and January 2022 Meetups Dates

It’s time to pick the dates for the Christmas and January Trottinghamshire Bronies meetups. This poll will close on the 23rd of November at midnight. Like the last time around there is also the optional question to pick dates that you don’t want to have the meetup on, to be used in case of a tie break between days.

Christmas Meetup

The plan for the Christmas meetup is to start at the Right Lion (the one closest to Burger King) that is at the front of the Nottingham City Council building in the Old Market Square at 12 Noon, and then at about 12:20 PM heading off to look around the Nottingham Christmas Market.

The market will be located along Long Row and Smithy Row offering a chance for some Christmas shopping. The market sells gifts and crafts, as well as there being speciality food stalls at the the market, if people want to have a bite to eat before going to the Dice Cup. If the Food Stalls are not to your taste there are plenty of fast food outlets around the Old Market Square, to get other food from.

After spending time at the market, we then plan to meet back at the Right Lion about 1:30 PM, before heading off at 1:45 PM to the Dice Cup.

The Dice Cup

The Dice Cup on Google Maps

The Dice Cup has adequate table space for the people who enjoy playing card games during these meets, such as TSSSF and MLP CCG. We may also be running a game of Tails of Equestria, a Pen and Paper RPG, at the meetup if we have the time to. It costs to £1.50 enter for the full day if you bring your own board games/card games.

If you feel like playing something different, there is also a selection other games which can be played at the dice cup. A list with all their games can be found on their, website under the Games Library section.

If playing tabletop games is not your thing, there will be plenty of people who you can just hang out and socialise with.

January Meetup

The plan for the January meetup is to start at the Costa Coffee in the entrance hall of Nottingham Train Station at 12:30 PM. Then at 12:45 PM we will head over to The Johnson Arms via the Toton Lane tram (Getting off at Gregory Street) hopefully getting to the pub for 1 PM.

The Johnson Arms

The Johnson Arms has adequate table space for the people who enjoy playing card games during these meets, such as TSSSF, MLP CCG, and Tails of Equestria.

If playing tabletop games is not your thing, there will be plenty of people who you can just hang out and socialise with. If the group wants to, and weather permitting, there’s also the option to have the meetup in the large beer garden out the back.
