Poll for Next Trottinghamshire Meetup (Nov/Dec) Date

It’s been over a month since we had a Trottinghamshire Meetup, (Unless you count the UKPC Pre/After meetups) so not only will we be holding a poll to decide the date for next month meetup, but there is another poll to help choose the date we hold the Christmas Meetup which will help us book things in advance. These polls will close on the 28th of October at Midnight.

The plan for the next meetup is to hang around The Orange Tree pub on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham to eat and socialise with other members. The Orange Tree has adequate table space for the people who enjoy playing card games during these meets, such as TSSSF and MLP CCG. If Pen and Paper RPGs are more of your thing, we will also be running a game of Tails of Equestria at the meetup.

It is also very close to the Victoria Shopping Centre if anyone wants to do some shopping during the meet.

15th of September and 18th of August meetups.

So the poll for next meetup date is now closed. The most popular date was the 15th of September. However the second most popular date was 18th of August.

So as the UK Pony Con Pre/After meetups are coming up in a few months, I thought I’ll save us some time and book both dates. Despite the 18th of August being next weekend I was able to book our usual room at the Orange Tree.

So in summary the next meetup is 18th of August (Next Weekend) and the meetup after that is on the 15th of September. More Details to come soon.

June Meetup Date and 5 Yr Anniversary event poll.

It’s time to plan for next month’s meetup. This poll will close on the 28th (Monday) of May at Midnight. This time around there are two questions as we approach our 5 Year Anniversary event on July 21st 2018, we need to decide what we will be doing for this occasion.  

For this coming month’s meet up, we plan to book a space at the The Orange Tree pub on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham and catch up with members. As the 5 Year Anniversary is coming up within two months, and this is the first meetup after Griffish Isles, there will be plenty to talk about. 

The Orange Tree has adequate table space for the people who enjoy playing card games during these meets, so people can play TSSSF and MLP CCG at the meetup.

It is also close to the Victoria Shopping Centre, so if anyone wants to do some shopping during the meet, you won’t have far to go.

UK Pony Con 2018 Pre/Breakfast/After Meets

As UK Pony Con is being held in Nottingham this year (on the Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October 2018) I thought it would be good idea to hold Pre/After/Breakfast Meets for anyone going to the convention.

The plan for the Pre/After Meets  would be to meetup at The Orange Tree as this is less than 5 minutes from the Nottingham Conference Centre where the convention venue is, and we have a good relationship with them. They have in the past even made a special My Little Pony themed dessert for us.

However depending on the time we hold the pre/after meets, booking a room may involve a cost of about 5£ per person, . We need to know more details about UK Pony Con schedule before we know if there will be a cost a for sure, the but I would want to make sure people are ok with that first.

For the Breakfast Meet we will have to have a different venue as the The Orange Tree isn’t open until 12 pm. So most likely we will meetup at the Old Market Square next to the lions and find a starbucks or other coffee shop. 

In order to work out if it is worthwhile for our group to hold Pre/After/Breakfast Meets, and help us work out the number of people that will turn up, we have a quick poll for people to fill in. This way I can give them a ball park figure of how many people are coming, and possibly book out one of the back rooms.

Poll for the Next Trottingham Meetup and Anniversary Meetup Dates

There are two questions to vote on this time. The first one is the date of the next Trottinghamshire Meetup date. However there are two weekends I can not run a meetup, the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of April and 19th and 20th of May. To make up for this I have included the May bank holidays (7th May and 28th May).

However there is something else we need to vote on. The Anniversary Meetup Date.

The last poll had question about if we wanted to pick the date for the Anniversary Meetup early, and most of you said yes to doing that. So we will be doing a vote on 5th Anniversary Meetup date this time as well.

Quick reminder of poll next for meetup date and 5 Year Anniversary planing.

Just a quick reminder that the poll for next Trottinghamshie Meetup will close Today at Midnight (10th of March). Sorry it wasn’t published earlier, but as mentioned via various channels (Facebook/Discord,Telegram, etc) the heavy snow in Mansfield kind killed off my internet, but hopefully it hasn’t cause too much of inconvenience. 

This poll also includes a extra question about if we should pick the date for the 5 Year Anniversary Meetup earlier than June (We are planing on having the Anniversary in) to avoid the room at the Orange Tree from being booked when we need it.

Poll for the date and room of the February Meetup

It’s time to plan for next month’s meetup. Hopefully there won’t be any problems like the train station fire like last time. This poll will close on the 28th of January at Midnight, and has an additional question about which room people want us to book for the meetup.

13th Of January Meetup Write Up (Buck Train Station Fires, We have ponies)

This time around we had booked out the disco room at the The Orange Tree, so we could show a slideshow of pictures from last year along with some Brony community-made background music. This was also useful to test the sound system and projector, to see if it was any good for the 5 year anniversary special. We can confirm that it is suitable for our needs.

While the meetup was slightly complicated due to the fire at Nottingham Train Station, it didn’t stop people coming to the meetup. The meet-up peaked at a total of 12 attendees, and most of these stayed to the end.

There were plenty of things going on during this meet; from an MLP CCG game, to people just chatting. There was also a Tails Of Equestria one shot campaign, featuring characters from one of the previous campaigns.

There was talk about the Trottingham Custom Twilight Sparkle’s Secret Ship Fic deck. If you have any ideas for cards you can use this TSSSF Card Generator in order to test them out. 

Alternatively, just mention your card ideas here.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable meetup and we hope that the Orange Tree will be happy to host us on future occasions.

January 13th Trottinghamshire Meetup

This month’s Trottinghamshire Brony meet-up is hosted at The Orange Tree pub on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham at 12:00 PM on the January 13th.  This time around, it was a tie between the 13th and 27th. As we had a meetup at the beginning of December, we decided to hold the next meetup on the 13th.

This time round the plan is to hang around The Orange Tree catch up with members. It has adequate table space for the people who enjoy playing card games during these meets, so people can play TSSSF and MLP CCG at the meetup.

We also found out at the last meetup that the Disco Room has a projector and sound system. So we are going to book this room out, so we can play some background music and show stuff on the projector .

The Orange Tree is also close to the Victoria Shopping Centre, so if anyone wants to do some New Year Sales shopping during the meet, you won’t have far to look.
