Join us for the pre-meet at the Dice Cup, a board game cafe just a short distance from the UKPC venue. The pre-meet is scheduled for Fridaythe 4th of October, starting at approximately 6 PM and concluding at 11 PM. Also, while you’re welcome to come beforehand, please be aware that a table is not guaranteed to be available. Also note, it would be very helpful if you are certain that you are coming to the pre-meet, for you to RSVP to this event by using the form below, as it could result in you being turned away because we weren’t able to book the correct a number of tables.
At the Dice Cup, there is adequate table space for card games, some of which we have played in the past:
TSSSF (Twilight Sparkles’ Secret Shipfic Folder).
Tails of Equestria (a Pen and Paper RPG).
MLP CCG.
Uno (Including the Wild Card Version).
Casting Shadows
If you don’t feel like playing board/card games, don’t worry! There will be plenty of people to socialise with and catch up with old and new friends after a busy weekend going around the convention.
The plan for the 28th of April meetup differs from the last one. This is because the playwright has started taking deposits if we want to bookinadvance. Unfortunately, the amount requested was far too excessive. This is why for all foreseeable meetups, we will be having the meetups at The Dice Cup.
As far as the plan for the main meetup, we have booked a table at The Dice Cup cafe on Mansfield Road, a 2-minute walk from Nottingham Victoria Bus Station between 12 PM and 6 PM. It’s 6£ pounds to play the Dice Cup games, or 2£ pounds if you are not going to play any of the Dice Cup’s games. There will be people at the meetup with their own games, so it should not be a problem if you don’t want to play the Dice Cup’s games (or any games). It has adequate table space for people to play cards and board games. Some of the games we have played in the past are:
TSSSF (Twilight Sparkles’ Secret Shipfic Folder)
Tails of Equestria (a Pen and Paper RPG)
MLP CCG at the meetup.
Uno (Including the Wild Card Version)
If playing tabletop games is not your thing, then there will be plenty of people at the meetup who you can hang out with and socialise. As mentioned, It is also close to the Victoria Shopping Centre, so if anyone wants to do some shopping during the meetup, you won’t have far to go.
Please be aware that the Dice Cup does have restricted menu options for snacks due to its Vegan policy. If you requireyour own food, you will not be allowed to eat/drink them on site.
It doesn’t seem to be 5 minutes since the last one, but UK Pony Con (UKPC) is now less than a month away.
It’s with great pleasure I can confirm the venue for the UKPC pre-meet is our friendly local pub, The Playwright Nº 38. We have the Poets Corner booked (the backroom that is near the pizza oven), for the Friday before the convention (29th of September). The venue will be open between 6:30 PM, and when the pub closes, at Midnight. Of course, people are welcome to arrive at the pub before 6:30 PM, however I can not guarantee the room will be available before then.
The Playwright is less than 6 minutes from the Nottingham Conference Centre where the convention is to be held.
The Playwright also has adequate table space for card games, some of which we have played in the past are:
TSSSF (Twilight Sparkles’ Secret Shipfic Folder)
Tails of Equestria (a Pen and Paper RPG)
MLP CCG at the meetup.
Uno (Including the Wild Card Version)

The date for the September meetup has been chosen. This date was picked because it was the most popular day and gave people the most notice.
The September meetup will be on Saturday, the 23rd of September. Because of an issue with the voting for October’s meetup date, that date will be announced later. I will also post the details of these meetups and the UKPC Pre/After meetups in the event section of our website at a later date.

If playing table top games is not your thing, there will be plenty of people who you can just hang out with and socialise.
Over the last couple of months, the Trottinghamshire Bronies attendees and I have been coming up with ideas for the UK Pony Con (UKPC) Pre/After Meetups.
I can now confirm that the venue for the UKPC pre-meet and after-meet is The Johnson Arms. We have The Johnson Arms booked for Friday 8th of October (between 4 PM and 11 PM) and Sunday 10th of October (between 7 PM and 11 PM) of the convention.
While not a requirement, it would be helpful for people to RSVP on this event page for the Pre Meetup, as The Johnson Arms has asked for rough numbers. The Event page for the After Meetup can be found here.
The Johnson Arms has adequate table space for card games such as TSSSF and MLP CCG. If playing tabletop games is not your thing, there will be plenty of people with who you can just hang out, show off convention merch and socialise.
There is a Toton Lane tram every 10 minutes, and the directions to The Johnson Arms can also be found here, or below as an embedded google map.
Tram times & Tickets
The cheapest tram ticket is a Day Ticket and will cost £4.40 for Adults, or £3.40 for Students. Said tickets, along with other ticket options can be ordered online from the Nottingham Express Transit website, or the ticket machine at the Royal Centre tram stop.

The voting for dates of the next couple of upcoming meetups are now closed, and the dates have now been chosen. These dates were picked due to them being the most popular days, the least disliked days, and the days that gives people themost notice.
The October Meetup will be held on the 16th of October, and the August Meetup will be on the 6th of November.
In other news, I can now confirm that the venue for the UKPC pre-meet and after-meet is The Johnson Arms. We have the Johnson Arms booked for the Friday (8th of October between 4 PM and 11PM) and Sunday (10th of October between 7 PM and 11PM) of the convention.
